The most important thing that needs to happen after networking and making friends is building your credibility. This is the only thing that will make you different from many others. It is human nature to never have that same trust with someone that has not kept their word…even if it has happened once. Once you make your first impression, everything becomes a lot more easy (only if you build GOOD credibility). I agree that you should practice the following to build your credibility:
DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING TO DO
Be open to the ideas of others
Use facts
Be on Time
First impression is the only impression
Admit to mistakes and have a plan to fix them
Solicit feedback and act on it
** I always say, there are two things that you can not screw up on: 1) Your credit 2) Your reputation
